Situation
This attractive plot in a rural woodland setting is situated south of Whitehouse and approximately 8 miles south west of Tarbert on the Kintyre peninsula. Kintyre is an area of great natural scenic beauty that has always drawn people,
it benefits from the mild climate created by the Gulf Stream. The closest village is Tarbert (approximately 8 miles by road). This picturesque
fishing village dominated by Robert the Bruce’s castle, has a well-stocked supermarket, cafés, food retailers and a number of hotels with a wide range
of bars and in house restaurants.

Tarbert is a popular yachting centre with a recently constructed marina and also has a nine-hole golf course, primary and secondary school.
The ferry at Kennacraig (about 2 miles away) provides links to Islay, Jura and Colonsay. In addition a ferry to Portavadie sails from Tarbert and provides an alternative route to and from Glasgow via Dunoon and Gourock. Claonaig
ferry terminal is only a short drive away, and connects the mainland of Kintyre with the Island of Arran (summer only). From Tayinloan there is a regular ferry service to the Island of Gigha.
Lochgilphead is around 21 miles away with an A&E hospital and leisure facilities (including a modern swimming pool). The town of Campbeltown is circa
30 miles to the south and has two supermarkets, a full range of shops and professional services, a secondary school, an A&E hospital, leisure facilities
(including a modern swimming pool) and a recently restored cinema. For sporting/outdoor enthusiasts, the two links courses at Machrihanish are of international acclaim and attract many visitors. There are further 9-hole courses in Carradale and on the island of Gigha. The 18-hole Dunvaverty Golf Course is at Southend (south of Campbeltown).

The 3 mile golden beach of Machrihanish Bay is well known for windsurfing and surf canoeing. World-class sailing is available with access to either Loch Fyne at Tarbert or the west coast and the Inner Hebrides from West Loch Tarbert. The Crinan Canal also connects Loch Fyne at Ardrishaig with Crinan giving safe passage to Mull and the Hebrides. Productive sea fishing from shore and boat is available locally and there are trout and salmon opportunities by permit in surrounding rivers and hill lochs. The countryside offers many opportunities to walk or cycle with nearby access
to the 90 mile Kintyre Way. There is no shortage of scenic routes and places of archaeological and historical interest to visit.
