The house is set amid mature, well stocked and easily tended gardens and from its prominent setting there are fine views east towards Castle Semple Loch and the hills above Howwood beyond.

Lochwinnoch is a charming and popular Renfrewshire village which has a good range of local shops, cafes and welcoming village and country pubs together with a good range of amenities that comfortably cater for every day needs and requirements. There is a good local primary school with secondary schooling in both the state and private sectors in the district. The independent St Columba’s school in Kilmacolm (9 miles) has both junior and senior schools.

For a fuller weekly shop there is a Tesco store in Kilbirnie (3.7 miles), a Co-op at Beith (3.7 miles), a Morrison’s at Johnstone (6.7 miles) and a Tesco store at Linwood (8.4 miles).

A complete range of professional services, higher education, cultural and retail are all available in Glasgow city some 18 miles to the northeast.

The A737 is the main trunk route to and from Glasgow Airport and the city as well as south to Prestwick Airport and the Ayrshire coastline.

Lochwinnoch has a mainline rail station and has a shuttle bus service to and from the village centre to the station.

Leisure services and facilities are wide and varied. There is a David Lloyd Health and Racquets Centre at Renfrew.

Inland sailing is available on Castle Semple Loch and the Firth of Clyde offers marine and chandlery services together with scenic coastal sailing.

Castle Semple also lies within the Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park, a ranger protected wildlife and outdoor facility with interesting walks, bird sanctuary and a link with the Sustrans cycle path and walkway which connects to and provides safe cycle routes to many other parts of central Scotland.

As with many parts of Scotland one is never too far from a golf course and Lochwinnoch is no exception with its welcoming and challenging 18-hole parkland course.
