Prestwick town offers an excellent range of shopping facilities, including main supermarkets and professional services. The town is also well catered for in respect of medical and health centres.
Prestwick has good local schooling at primary and secondary levels, Wellington is the independent school in Ayr and some of the children of the district attend the independent schools in Glasgow.

Transport links in the area are excellent. A direct dual carriageway links to the M77 to Glasgow City Centre (approximately 35 miles to the north east). Prestwick Airport is nearby where there are increasing domestic and international routes. Prestwick Train Station is approximately 1 mile to the north of the property, with a regular 40 minute service to Central Station, Glasgow.
From Glasgow city centre proceed in a westerly direction on the M8 motorway, take the slip road to M77 signposted Kilmarnock & Prestwick Airport. Remain on the M77 for 29.4 miles to reach the Dutch House roundabout at Monkton. At the roundabout take the 3rd exit onto the A78. At the next roundabout take the 2nd exit onto the A79. Continue through the next 2 roundabouts to stay on the A79. At the Shawfarm roundabout take the 3rd exit onto Monkton Road/A79. Continue for 1.7 miles to before turning left onto Mansfield Road. Once on Mansfield Road, turn immediate left ono the access lane for The Dormie House.
