Personal timber gate set within a white painted picket fence to gravel path with potted plants and hanging baskets, outdoor furniture, access to the property’s front door, easily tended lawn with colourful potted flower beds and bushes, bounded by a stone wall and white painted picket fence. Gravel path wraps around the side of the property to another personal gate leading to rear gardens, relatively low maintenance by design and laid to gravel and circular lawn formation with stepping stones to alfresco sitting and dining area made tranquil with the backdrop of the burn. Various colourful potted plants, hanging baskets, bringing pretty colour to the gardens and cottage. Personal gate at extreme rear gardens provide access to the burn which forms a natural rear boundary.

Situation
Bridge House is situated on the west coast of the Kintyre peninsula in the delightful little hamlet of Tayinloan. The house enjoys a pretty riverbank situation beside the old local rustic stone bridge.

The cottage is a short walk from the beach where there are glorious sea views towards the islands of Cara, Gigha, Islay and Jura. The Mull of Kintyre is an area of natural scenic beauty which has always drawn people, and it benefits from the mild climates created by the gulf stream.

The local doctors surgery in Muasdale is a five minute drive away and only a short distance from Muasdale stores, voted Scotlands best local village shop in 2025. The town of Campbeltown is 18 miles to the south and has two supermarkets, a full range of shops and professional services, a secondary school, an A&E hospital, leisure facilities (including a modern swimming pool) and a cinema.

Tayinloan is home to the ferry terminal which connects the mainland of the Mull of Kintyre with the pretty coastal Island of Gigha.

From Tarbert there are ferry links to Islay and Portavadie, which gives access to an alternative route to Glasgow via Dunoon and Gourock.

For sporting/outdoor enthusiasts, the links course of Machrihanish is of international acclaim and attracts many visitors. An additional 18-hole golf course known as the Machrihanish Dunes Golf Club has also recently opened. Tarbert has a challenging 9 hole course and there are further 9-hole courses in Carradale and on the island of Gigha. The 18-hole Dunvaverty Golf Course is at Southend. The 3 mile golden beach of Machrihanish Bay is well known for windsurfing and surf canoeing.

World class sailing is available with access to either Loch Fyne at Tarbert or the west coast and the Inner Hebrides from West Loch Tarbert. The Crinan Canal also connects Loch Fyne at Ardrishaig with Loch Crinan and on to Mull and the Hebrides.

Productive sea fishing from shore and boat is available locally and there are trout and salmon opportunities by permit in surrounding rivers and hill lochs.

The countryside is a delight in which to walk or cycle with nearby access to 90 mile circular Kintyre Way, and there is no shortage of scenic routes and places of archaeological and historical interest to visit.

Travel Directions
From Glasgow take the A82 and A83 to reach the west coast town/port of Tarbert. Take the A83 out of Tarbert following signs for Campbeltown. After about 20 miles, turn right off the A83 and into Tayinloan, after going over the little stone bridge turn immediate right (before shop and filling station) and Bridge House is on the right hand side.
